Oliver Nias is a BIFA-nominated filmmaker from London.

 

Oliver Nias is the writer-director of high-concept mystery thriller The Return. The 35mm-shot feature film was nominated for The Discovery Award at the British Independent Film Awards, Best UK Feature at Raindance Film Festival and winner of Best Screenplay at the Top Indie Film Awards.

 

He also directed thriller The Speechwriter and produced dark comedy Round Robin, short films that were Official Selection for Raindance and Aesthetica Short Film Festival respectively. He is managed by Adam Kolbrenner's Lit Entertainment Group for Film & TV.​​

He founded Obstacle Studios in 2012, known for its compelling brand documentaries (Obstacle Films), its emotionally intelligent advisory and consultancy (Obstacle Advisory) and its caring educational work supporting emerging creative talent (Obstacle Labs).

Oliver started making films with friends at school and while studying English Literature at University College London.
